Direx informs you that it offers a fully compliant and practical solution for shipping parcels to the USA, aligned with the new customs requirements.

Following the removal of the de minimis threshold in the USA in August 2025, all shipments — without exception — are subject to customs duties and taxes, regardless of their value.

How does Direx protect you?

With our updated DX GLOBAL and DX EXPRESS services, we provide a full DDP solution (Delivered Duty Paid) — duties and taxes are calculated in advance and collected from the sender.

The recipient in the USA owes nothing additional.

We minimize the risk of detained or returned shipments.

We offer flexibility and convenience tailored to the customer’s budget and needs.

Available service types

  • DX GLOBAL – An economical and affordable solution with an estimated delivery time of 6–10 business days.
  • DX EXPRESS – An express service via UPS (no additional fees) or DHL (with an additional customs clearance fee).

Each customer can choose the most suitable delivery speed according to their priorities and budget.

How are customs duties calculated?

Customs duties are not fixed — they are determined individually based on three main factors:

  • HS code (10-digit) – precisely identifies the type of goods.
  • Invoice value – includes the value of the product.
  • Country of origin (manufacture) – critically important, as customs tariffs also depend on it.
  • Practical examples:
    • If the duty for a product is 10%, a minimum of 15% is applied under the new rules.
    • If the rate for a specific product (e.g. auto parts) is 25%, then 25% applies, not 15%.

Why is it important to provide accurate information?

Incorrect declaration of the HS code or country of manufacture may lead to:

  • Overcharged duties
  • Customs delays
  • Penalties, refusal of acceptance, and return of the shipment
